The Pan-American Masters Games has announced the inclusion of squash in its official sports program for the Cleveland 2024 Games, which is set to be the biggest international gathering in Northeast Ohio’s history. The Pan-American Masters Games is an Olympic-style sports festival for masters athletes, aged 30 and over, held every four years in the Americas. This event attracts over 7,500 masters athletes from more than 50 countries, along with thousands of spectators, families, and friends.
Squash Included in the 2024 Sports Program
The Cleveland 2024 Games will feature squash as one of the 26 sports in the official sports program. The competition will be held at the Cleveland Racquet Club and will be open to players of all abilities.
Squash Boasts Large and Diverse Masters Community
Squash enjoys a large and diverse player base at the masters level, including across the Americas, with world masters champions coming from a wide variety of nations. Federación Panamericana de Squash President Francisco Paradisi expressed his delight at squash being confirmed again for inclusion in the Games, given the sport’s thriving masters community throughout the Americas region. The Pan-American Masters Games is expected to provide more than $18 million in economic impact to the local Cleveland economy.
