Islamabad, Pakistan – The Pakistan Squash Federation proudly presents the 1st Quaid-e-Azam National Championship, taking place at the renowned Mushaf Squash Complex in Islamabad from June 2nd to June 7th, 2023. This prestigious event promises to be a thrilling showcase of talent and sportsmanship, featuring 13 age categories.
The championship kicked off with the 1st phase, which included the Men & Women Senior divisions, as well as the Men & Women Masters categories, from June 2nd to June 4th, 2023. Notably, the Senior Men, Senior Women, Boys U-19, and Girls U-19 events will be organized as the PSA National Championship, each offering a prize of US$1,000/-.
Players from all corners of Pakistan have eagerly entered their names to participate in this highly anticipated event, eager to test their skills against the best of the best.
Excitement filled the air as the first round matches of the championship commenced today. The results are as follows:
1st Round (Men Senior Satellite Event)
- Farhan Zaman defeated Abdul Waqar 11/7, 11/3, 11/5 in 18 minutes.
- Arbab Aizaz overcame Anas Khan 11/9, 11/7, 11/9 in 20 minutes.
- Faraz dominated over Asher Butt with a 3-0 victory (11/6, 11/1, 11/3) in just 16 minutes.
- Waqar Mehboob emerged victorious against Fahad Sharif with an impressive performance of 11/7, 11/6, 11/4 in 15 minutes.
- Shahab Khan defeated Ibrahim Mohib in a thrilling match of 11/7, 8/11, 11/9, 11/4 lasting 29 minutes.
- Mutahir Ali showcased his skills with an 11/8, 11/7, 11/7 win against Waqas in 25 minutes.
- Khoshal Riaz overcame Abdullah Nadeem in a hard-fought battle of 7/11, 11/9, 11/8, 11/6 in 22 minutes.
- Shayan received a walkover against Zeeshan Malik.
- Komail Tariq secured a close victory against Noor Zaman with scores of 11/7, 11/9, 9/11, 9/11 in 20 minutes.
- Khaqan Malik defeated Nawab Shah with a convincing 11/6, 11/8, 11/3 win in 22 minutes.
- Varun Asif triumphed over Mvfarhan in an intense match lasting 42 minutes with scores of 11/8, 6/11, 3/11, 11/7, 11/3.
- Abdullah Nawaz outplayed Jawad Ali Khan with an 11/7, 11/3, 11/8 victory in just 15 minutes.
- M Ammad emerged victorious against Bilal Zakir with scores of 11/7, 12/10, 11/5 in 24 minutes.
- Usman Nadeem showcased his skills with an 11/7, 11/8, 12/10 win against M Junaid Khan in 20 minutes.
- Yasin Khatak defeated M Baber in an exciting match of 11/5, 8/11, 11/5, 11/3 lasting 31 minutes.Mehmood Mehboob emerged victorious against Cavish Farukh with scores of 11/8, 11/8, 12/14, 11/6 in an intense 29-minute battle.
1st Round (Women Satellite Event)
In the Women Satellite Event, the first round showcased the incredible talent and determination of the female competitors:
Umm e Kulsoom displayed her prowess with an impressive victory over Naheed Faiz, winning 11/1, 11/2, 11/5 in just 15 minutes.
- Amna Malik demonstrated her skills by defeating Zymal Khan with a convincing 11/5, 11/3, 11/4 win in 16 minutes.
- Noor ul Ain dominated her match against Anusha, securing an 11/1, 11/1, 11/1 victory in a swift 6 minutes.
- Maryam Malik showcased her talent by overpowering Sahar Noor, winning 11/1, 11/1, 11/0 in just 10 minutes.
- Amna Fayyaz received a walkover against Rida Hussain.
- Saima Shoukat engaged in a fierce battle against Sehrish Ali, ultimately emerging victorious with scores of 11/5, 11/6, 10/12, 11/9 in 20 minutes.

- Anum Mustafa demonstrated her prowess, defeating Wajeeha Altaf with an 11/1, 11/0, 11/5 victory in 12 minutes.

- In the Women 35+ category, Amina displayed her experience and skill by defeating Asma with an impressive 11/2, 11/3, 11/1 victory in just 12 minutes.
